One Mind Initiative At Work to Host Second Annual Global Forum; Patrick Kennedy to address ‘Mental Health in the Workplace’

One Mind Initiative at Work will host its second annual Global Forum on Mental Health, “Accelerating a Global Movement to Improve Mental Health in the Workplace,” September 13, 2018 at Harvest Inn in St. Helena, California. The forum will bring together global experts in mental health; representatives of major employers such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Johnson & Johnson; and representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor, from the National Institute of Mental Health, and from Mental Health America, among other organizations. Patrick J. Kennedy, former U.S. Representative (D-RI), co-founder of One Mind Initiative at Work, founder of The Kennedy Forum, and international advocate for parity in mental health and substance use disorder treatment, will deliver opening remarks at approximately 8:45 a.m. entitled “Creating the Movement to Drive Mental Health in the Workplace.” Other scheduled speakers include Dan Gillison, Executive Director, American Psychiatric Association Foundation, and Paul Gionfriddo, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mental Health America. According to the event website, the forum will examine effective strategies for addressing employees’ mental health; discuss the quantifiable impacts of mental health challenges for employers; and will present current science related to the brain and what it means for diagnosis and management of mental health conditions.
