Special Guest Speakers
Newt Gingrich is well-known as the architect of the “Contract with America” that led the Republican Party to victory in 1994 by capturing the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time in forty years. After he was elected Speaker, he disrupted the status quo by moving power out of Washington and back to the American people. Under his leadership, Congress passed welfare reform, the first balanced budget in a generation, and the first tax cut in sixteen years. In addition, the Congress restored funding to strengthen defense and intelligence capabilities, an action later lauded by the bipartisan 9/11 Commission.
Today Newt Gingrich is a CNN Contributor, where he continues to advocate bold policy ideas. He is a Senior Advisor at Dentons, the world’s largest law firm with more than 6,500 lawyers in 50 countries and offices in more than 125 cities. He advises the firm’s world-class Public Policy and Regulation practice. He is also a Senior Scientist at Gallup.
Martin Luther King III
As the oldest son of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King III has seized the torch lit by his parents and is continuing their quest for equality and justice for all people.
Martin Luther King, III has been motivating audiences around the world with his insightful message of hope and responsibility for nearly twenty years. Whether speaking to an audience in Mozambique or Mississippi, Israel or Indiana, his vision of the future has touched thousands.
Mr. King’s dedication to creating and implementing strategic nonviolent action to rid the world of social, political, and economic injustice has propelled him to the forefront as one of the nation’s most ardent advocates for the poor, the oppressed, and the disillusioned.
Wayne Brady is an Emmy winning television personality who personifies the quadruple threat entertainer. A trained actor, singer, dancer and comedian and currently the host of CBS daytime game show Let’s Make a Deal, he is best known for his show stealing role on the improvisational comedy television series Whose Line Is It Anyway? Called an “improvisational guru” by People magazine, Wayne Brady is not only a familiar face in homes across America, but a uniting and positive influence in many lives. One of the most versatile performers in show business today, Brady has become a synonym for improvisational acting, singing and dancing. He is Grammy Award-nominated artist, Broadway actor, dancer and has appeared in many TV shows, movies and commercials. His credits include Broadway’s Chicago, along with such television shows as How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock and Real Husbands of Hollywood.
In 2014, Brady opened up about his secret battle with depression. “It took me a while to get my stuff together to go, ‘You know what? If you’re not happy, you have to do something about it,’” he says frankly. “Just to admit that you are feeling this way is a huge step. To claim that, to say, ‘Why do I feel dark? Why do I feel unhappy? Let me do something about this.’”
