Kennedy, former U.S. Representative (D-RI), lead sponsor of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, and founder of The Kennedy Forum and of DontDenyMe.org, will address attendees at a luncheon hosted by the First Friday Club of Chicago Friday, April 5, 2019, noon – 1:15 p.m., at The Union League Club, Chicago, Illinois.
In his talk, “Challenging One of the Last Social Taboos – Discrimination Against Mental Health, Addiction, and Other Brain Diseases,” Kennedy will explore the stigma and inequities faced by people with mental health and substance use disorders and expound on the acute need for mental health parity.
