The Kennedy Forum to host National Opioid & Substance Awareness Day September 21

National Opioid and Substance Awareness Day, taking place September 21, 2021, will be hosted by Brigham Comprehensive Opioid Response and Education Program and McLean Hospital in partnership with The Kennedy Forum.

Patrick J. Kennedy, founder of The Kennedy Forum, will serve as the opening speaker. The event’s theme will be “The Impact of COVID-19 on Substance Misuse and What Can Be Done,” and participants will learn from experts and from those with lived experience about substance misuse, evidence-based treatment, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Virtual Town Hall event is free for all, and will offer anonymous screenings for mental health, substance use disorder, and suicide risk.
