The Kennedy Forum Announces Its Participation as a Brain Economy Action Forum Pathfinder Organization

Published: September 23, 2025

The Kennedy Forum is proud to announce its participation as a Pathfinder organization for the Brain Economy Action Forum.

The Brain Economy Action Forum is organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and McKinsey Health Institute, convening a dynamic group of stakeholders to drive dialogue and action toward sustainable economic growth and societal well-being. Pathfinder organizations will lead, shape, and amplify shared goals at the forefront of the brain economy movement.

As a Pathfinder, The Kennedy Forum will further advance its vision to ensure mental health as essential health. We are entering a new era where brain capital — encompassing brain skills and brain health— is becoming essential to sustainable growth and human development.

“Brain health reframes the artificial siloes we’ve created between mental health, substance use disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and a range of conditions and factors that affect our ability to thrive,” said The Kennedy Forum Co-Founder Patrick J. Kennedy. “When we cohesively address the full scope of health, the results will speak for themselves — delivering the outcomes we want and need for the future. Right now, we have the chance to unlock the potent power of every mind to create, connect, and contribute.”

“We are proud to become a Pathfinder organization, joining an ever-growing coalition that understands the significance of investing in brain health,” said Rebecca O. Bagley, President and CEO of The Kennedy Forum. “Advancing brain health and brain capital will be a defining feature in a resilient, thriving future that successfully minimizes risk and maximizes human potential.”

Together with partner West Health, The Kennedy Forum is exploring brain health through the life course, offering context for employers, lawmakers, and high-level decision-makers about the economic, social, and population health benefits of investing in citizens at every stage of life.

Learn Why Employers Must Consider Brain Capital

“The brain health crisis isn’t coming — it’s already here. We just haven’t woken up to it. Together with The Kennedy Forum, we’re sounding the alarm and making brain capital a national priority to strengthen our workforce and secure the future,” said Tim Lash, President of West Health.

The Kennedy Forum’s work in brain health continues its longstanding leadership in the mental health and substance use disorder ecosystem and further advances the Alignment for Progress vision: By 2033, 90% of the population is screened for mental health and substance use disorders, 90% who need it receive evidence-based treatment, and 90% manage symptoms and achieve recovery.

The organization is thrilled to work alongside other Brain Economy Action Forum Pathfinders, including an ever-evolving list of leaders at the forefront of the brain economy. See the current list of Pathfinder Organizations here.
